PIRATES ON THE BLACKSTONE

Join the zany Captain Good in search of his family’s treasure! Years have gone by since these riches were lost along the Blackstone River and he needs your help to find the chest of gold. You’ll want to watch out for other pirates that may be on the hunt though.
Are you ready to become a pirate? Excitement, surprises, shanties, and a super-fun dance party are all in store for you aboard The Explorer. Before you even board, the captain will greet you on land to begin this epic tale!
This 45-minute experience includes a 20-minute journey on the water that is great for children of all ages and includes a FREE GIFT! Plus, don’t miss the fun activities and photo opportunities on shore before your trip. Come fully dressed as a pirate to increase the fun!

BLACKSTONE RIVER KAYAKING
Through 9/30
Blackstone River Expeditions is excited to offer kayak and canoe rentals on the Blackstone River departing from Central Falls Landing. On your journey you’ll be able to explore the hidden spots along the river and possibly see the many species of wildlife that call this waterway home including egrets, painted turtles, cormorants, osprey, and “Sam” the lone mute swan.
Rentals are available for either 1.5 hours or 3 hours and we have single kayaks, tandem kayaks (2 people), and canoes (3 people)

SAMUEL SLATER CANAL BOAT
Through 10/29
Named in honor of the father of the American Industrial Revolution, Samuel Slater, this 40-foot canal boat is the only one of its kind in nearby American waters. The boat is a reminder of the two decades (from 1828 – 1848), when canal boats were a common sight on the Blackstone River and the nearby Blackstone Canal.
Built in Cambridgeshire, England, this authentic British canal boat can host up to 4 people for a unique overnight experience. Complete with cozy wood features all around you, the Slater has all that you’ll need for that special getaway!
The Samuel Slater hosts:
– bedroom with full-size bed and closet
– kitchen with stove-top, oven, sink, and refrigerator
– bathroom with hot shower
– complimentary tea and coffee for guests
– option to purchase a cruise on the Blackstone River

BLACKSTONE VALLEY SHOPPING AND HISTORY TRAIN EXCURSION
10/28, 9 am – 4:30 am
Hop aboard for a wonderful train excursion to learn more about the history of the Blackstone River Valley!
Your trip begins at 9 AM in Woonsocket, RI. From there you’ll take a 2 hour train ride through Blackstone Valley National Heritage Corridor up to Worcester, MA on your way to Putnam, CT.
For this trip we’ve partnered with historian Barbara Zdravesky to create a tour booklet that includes informative history of the cities and towns along our route to enjoy at your leisure.
Once we arrive, explore Putnam to find some amazing antiquing spots, acclaimed local restaurants, art galleries, craft beer, historic sites, their giant sandcastle & scarecrow display along the Quinebaug River at Rotary Park, and much more!!!
After a fun-filled day the train will depart at 2:30 PM for return back to Woonsocket, RI at 4:30.

BLACKSTONE VALLEY POLAR EXPRESS
11/10 – 12/17 and 18 (Monday)
The magic returns this holiday season for a three-hour experience at the Blackstone Valley Polar Express!!! Join us for a 90-minute train ride to view the North Pole that’s filled with singing, games, a reading of the classic children’s story “The Polar Express,” and a visit from Santa! The Conductor will be there to punch your special golden ticket, and you’ll all enjoy hot chocolate and a cookie during your trip. Plus, every child will receive a silver bell – the first gift of Christmas!
We’ve expanded the experience outside of the depot so the fun starts before you even get on the train with a stage show, photo opportunities with the characters, children’s activities, and a whole lot more that is sure to fill us all with the spirit of Christmas!
