Cumberland native Alexandria Evers was named Rhode Island’s 2024 Cherry Blossom Princess delegate.

Each year, a new delegate is chosen by local leaders and the consul general of Japan to represent Rhode Island at the National Conference of State Societies’ Cherry Blossom Princess Program during the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. There, Evers will be joined by other princesses representing all 50 states and U.S. territories.

“I have very deep ties to Rhode Island; this is my home, and getting to represent a place that has so heavily influenced who I am, a place I have been so heavily involved in, is an honor,” Evers said.
